Season 1 aired on Thursday nights, I believe. Season 2 aired on Saturday nights for half the season then it went back to Thursday’s. Season 3 aired Thursdays and then it was Saturday again in season 4-5. Season 6 aired on Wednesdays, with the last few episodes airing on TUESDAY?! Why couldn’t they find a more permanent time slot?
Only thing I can think of is they were airing alongside the Golden Girls during season 5 (season 1 of the GGs) and probably getting more viewers than GAB. Same thing with the first season of Cheers during season 2 of GAB. |

That is all very interesting. A lot of times, networks trying to put a new show either right before or right after a show that is already popular. Another show that did a lot of jumping around of times and nights of the week was "Mad About You".

Hmm never knew that about Mad About You. I wonder if the constant jumping back and forth from one night to another affected the ratings. Seems like the only time they stuck with one night for awhile was season 4 and 5. Cosby first premiered during GAB’s 4th season but at the time, GAB was airing on Saturday nights while Cosby and Cheers were on Thursday. I wonder if during the final season of GAB, they didn’t want to air it on the same night as monster hits such as Cosby and Cheers.
