I think this has been discussed before, but it seems like it was a while ago.

What does everyone think the chances are of having LITB released on DVD? I realize that since the show was never released on VHS, it's more doubtful that it will come out on DVD. However, there are some other older shows that are beginning to show up on DVD (usually in "season" set releases). This gives me a little more hope than I had 6 months ago.

For instance, the following shows have been, or will soon be, released on DVD: Jeffersons, All in the Family, I Love Lucy, Mary Tyler Moore, Dick Van Dyke (supposedly the entire set all at once!) and a few others. To my knowledge, none of these shows ever were released on VHS except in very limited amounts. In other words, a "Best of" VHS or something like that. But not an entire season.

So maybe there's still hope. I sure would love to have the entire run on DVD! What's everything else think?

I have a feeling that part of the problem with shows not coming out on VHS or DVD has to do with licensing, more than lack of interest. Hopefully that will change eventually.
I think it would be great to be able to get the whole LITB series in a collection on DVD. I've already taped most of the shows on VHS but they have commercials and have been butchered by the networks showing them. I always keep my eye on Columbia home video to see if any of my favorite shows are out on tape of DVD.

I don't know if it will happen or not, but I would LOVE to see LITB come out on DVD!!! I know I would buy the set! I can understand I Love Lucy coming out on DVD, I mean come on it's LUCY!!! But in my opinion, if the Jeffersons can make it to DVD, so can Beaver!!!
