Default Don't Breathe (spoilers in post)

Watched this tonight on Redbox streaming. Good suspense and I liked everything about the film but the ending. It's rare that I root for the victims to die a painful death but this movie made me root for their demise.

Stealing from a blind man is just terrible and I wanted that girl to get hers but she didn't.
When she got away with his money I felt cheated and seeing her get killed would've made the film so much better imo. I love these types of films though. It reminded me a little of the Audrey Hepburn film "Wait Until Dark" which I liked so much I bought the dvd.

I haven't watched much horror movies in the last 5 years so if there's any recommendations please share. I think the only films I saw since 2015 were ones i've mentioned here already and "Ready or Not" (loved it!) and "The Final Girls" (also loved but more comedy/horror)

I thought the blind man was the villain? Yes, they were stealing from him, but I thought he had a girl hostage in the basement? It’s been awhile since I’ve seen this. I may be thinking of another one.

Did you see My Bloody Valentine? Both the original and remake are good. The original Black Christmas is good too. No blood or gore in that one. Just plain suspense. American Gothic from the 80’s is a good one. I prefer the sequel to The Strangers than the first one if you haven’t seen that yet. The Sleepaway Camp sequels with Bruce Springsteen’s sister are ok. I just watched both of those recently with a friend. If I think of anymore, I’ll post em here. Those are the ones off the top of my head.

Edit: I thought of a couple more. Intruders (2015) and You’re Next are good. There’s multiple Intruders movies. The one I’m talking about is this one.

I recently watched "Intruders" on Tubi and loved it. I love this streaming channel because they have tons of movies and tv shows all free. You have ads which I don't mind, but the movies seem to all be unedited.

I watched "You're Next" (another great one) and looked at the trailer for "The Strangers" and pretty sure I saw that when it came out on dvd. spoiler for that film...i'll hightlight in white for those who don't want to read--I think the killers were all kids? I seem to remember that being the ending......I never knew there was a sequel to that though. Will have to seek that out.

I know I saw My Bloody Valentine back when I was a kid but after almost 40 years (yikes) I may give it another look.

I haven't watched much movies in the past 5 years so anything 2015 to now I most likely haven't seen.

I watched a South African film today on Tubi called "Hunting Emma". It's spoken in Afrikaan but since I use subtitles anyway, it didn't bother me. It's a survival/horror film about a woman who witnesses a crime in the desert and is chased by 6 criminals.
It devolves into mush by the end imo, but still worth a watch. I love these types of suspense films where people are hunted/chased and fight to survive. I like some gore too, but I love the suspense more.

I checked out the trailer for Black Christmas and don't recall seeing it. It gets a 7.2 rating on IMDB so i'll put that in my list of films to watch.

Tubi has the original Black Christmas so I threw it into my queue. The Strangers sequel isn't there so i'll have to stream it off Amazon, but it looks good.

I recently got into Pluto TV. They have so much variety. I love the Game Show Network channel they have. They air some good ones.

The spoiler you added isn't for The Strangers. They're not kids who kill. The sequel is far better. It takes place in more settings that just the house. There's also more characters involved for the Strangers to go after. It's not just Liv Tyler in every scene acting scared.

Both My Bloody Valentines are good. I like the remake better because it has actors / actresses I like from shows growing up.

As long as it's the 70's Black Christmas you're watching, it's worth it. The remake from 2006 I think was the year was more about gore than the story. I don't mind gore, but there has to be a story behind it. They made another Black Christmas last year. I haven't seen it yet because I will always prefer the original one.

Then which one was it that it was a bunch of kids terrorizing a couple in their house? They wore masks throughout the whole film and towards the end we learn they're evil little children. I have to google and see if it pops up or i'll be wondering forever.

I found it! It was a foreign film called "Them" ---I watched it many years ago. https://www.imdb.com/title/tt0465203/

It's the 1974 Black Christmas on Tubi. I'll try and watch that this week. Pluto TV looks good, though I see you have to follow their set schedule to watch which isn't too bad....Oh never mind! I see you can switch to On Demand at the top of the screen and yeah they do have a lot of variety. I moved that channel up in my main menu and put it next to Tubi. Only drawback is you can't seem to search for a particular film or show like you can on Tubi.

Tubi only has the Bloody Valentine remake so i'll give that a look this week. They also have all the Screams too!! This saves me from buying the dvds which is expensive even used on ebay. But it says the films are "leaving soon" so I better get those in before it goes away.
