The person who commented it is Andi and she claims that she is a former June Taylor Dancer. Andi 2.0 out of 5 stars Not as advertised Reviewed in the United States on February 4, 2020 Verified Purchase “The tape was supposed to be of the 1967 show. It was black and white and from an old New York filming. Also, the recording tab was not punched out. It also kept loosing timecode and when I tried to rewind and reply it, I accidentally erased the first section. So. Didn't work out. I was a June Taylor Dancer from 1965-67 and Marilyn Taylor Gleason has taken all the June Taylor Dancer videos out of circulation. All our work is currently off market. Not happy about that either.“ Now, I have this tape and transferred it to DVD still intact with all the footage. If this persons claim of her being a June Taylor Dancer is true, I wonder if she has any scripts and/or other never-before - released Honeymooners footage. |

I'm a little confused here, by Christmas 1967 wouldn't the show have been in color (all the programming on CBS was in color by that date). The show was filmed in Miami by 1967 as well.

It would be in color if it were of the mid to late 60's era. There were, however, plenty of b&w film recordings made of the color taped shows for archiving, affiliate stations, overseas sales and, most popularly, armed forces entertainment.
The Amazon comment seems to be a bit of a mixup on the buyer's part as, I think, the Wayne Newton credit does indeed indicate a much earlier program that has been widely circulated among collectors for years, all from the same 16mm source. |
