Why were Rob Reiner and Sally Struthers taken off the show?

The reason they left is because they wanted to not because they were forced off or anything like that. Rob Reiner wanted to move on with his career and Sally Struthers wanted do other things and get her own show. Unfortunately, when she finally got her own show, "Gloria," it did not succeed and was taken off the air.
