Beaver's Bad Day (Lots of Religion in It)

surprised to see god brought up Many Times ...

I wonder if this episode was written with THAT as the intent or just worked out that way ?

I don't remember any other episode(s) with much about god watching+- ?

In the episode where Beaver keeps a diary, there's a scene with Beaver and June with the God is watching us theme.

Yeah I though the trumpeters were going to play the Davy and Goliath theme at the end. I can hear it now.

I never knew only Davey & the viewer could hear Goliath ... (I got to think about that !)

Each 15-minute episode features the adventures of Davey Hansen and his "talking" dog Goliath (although only Davey and the viewer can hear him speak) as they learn the love of God through everyday occurrences. Many of the episodes also feature Davey's parents John and Elaine, his sister Sally, as well as Davey's friends: Jimmy, Teddy, and Nathaniel in earlier episodes, and Jonathan, Jimmy, Nicky, and Cisco in later ones.

Goliath and other characters including Davey's dad are voiced by Hal Smith. And, right, only the viewer and Davey can hear him. The episodes are stop-motion animation.

It was produced for the Lutheran Church by Art Clokey, of Gumby fame. The theme is an old Martin Luther reformation hymn, A Mighty Fortress is our God.

Was this one of the eps that Hugh directed? If so, you know he was a Methodist minister so I wasn't surprised really...

I think the first episode he directed was Wally and Alma.

He wrote A Horse Named Nick.

Really bad description. Looked at LITB S1 on Wikipedia, and it's accurate. The episode was written by John Whedon and directed by Norman Tokar.

There are a few other episodes where the Almighty is mentioned. In The Grass is Always Greener, the older of the garbageman's kids asks Wally and Beaver if they ever gaze up at the sky and think about "clouds and God and stuff." Wally replies that he gets these thoughts sometimes, but mostly at night.

Then I think it was Mother's Day Composition where Ward was up in the boys' room, and he says to Beaver that while we would all like our parents to be the most glamorous people, we just have to accept things as God gives them to us. I might be wrong about the episode.

Beaver's comment about God and the Russians in "Beaver and Kenneth" is actually one of my favorite lines in the series. Great Cold War humor.
