Default Does Anyone Remember This Segment?

I don't believe it is in the Amazon Prime collection.

It involves an executive I believe his family were heirs to the U-Haul franchise (don't quote me on that). Anywho he lives in a rural area in a really nice house with an open floor plan. You can clearly see inside the house very well due to the windows at night. Where the home is located makes it very hard for someone to find the home unless they know exactly what they are looking for. It was very deep into the woods on a rural area with one road in and one road out.

He is out of town on business and his wife and kids are home alone. I believe someone was lying in wait for him to leave and murdered his family. The wife had a habit of leaving the garage door open to let the dogs out.

The family was at odds in regards to the company's shares I believe two of the brothers were torn because one sided with the father who was the founder and the other brother went against the family. I can't remember which brother whose family was murdered. I just remember one brother voted to oust the father and other brother form the company.

They thought perhaps this was a motive for the murders and it divided the family even more. I can't recall for sure if the kids were murdered but I do remember the wife was killed.

My memory is very vague of when this aired but I recall it being on the CD collection many years ago. There was a later update that said the family feud was no longer considered a lead and this was an isolated incident. It basically seemed like a contract killing though and I don't believe anyone was ever arrested. In hindsight I think it is quite possible the guy could have hired someone to kill his family and use the family feud to help him get off. But what I remember from the segment he seemed quite sincere and unassuming.

Anyone remember this segment?

Here you go! This one didn't make it to Prime, unfortunately.

ETA: It's ridiculous that the perpetrator only served 17 years for murdering an innocent woman in her own home.

Dominick Dunne's show (Power, Privilege, and Justice) had an episode on the Schoen case. It is on the forbidden site (or at least was).

This was a criminally underrated segment. It reminded me of the Sammy Wheeler segment, where the people who the segment hinted at being involved wound up having nothing to do with the murder.

As far as we know. Still seems like someone wanted Sam and/or Eva dead for running his father out of the business. Who else knew the remote location in Telluride besides the Shoens?

The man who was convicted for her murder was an alleged rapist and burglar but he didn't rape her or steal anything. He was in town for only 2 days and had borrowed a gun from a friend and returned it after committing the crime. This is a red flag for me. Most serial rapists or home invasions are pretty routine-- meaning the culprit rarely changes their modus operandi. Why in this instance did the guy abandoned both of his motivations to just kill her? I don't buy it either. This had all of the signs of a contract killing.

I also found it odd that the husband goes out of town and takes the wife's car. His car was the only one left in the drive way. She conveniently left the door open that night--which seems like something of a habit. Someone knew she didn't lock that door by habit.

I would love to see this segment again; does anyone have it? I searched the forbidden site and couldn't find it. I have not saw it in about 6 or 7 years.
