Hello all,
Last month, a new Laurel & Hardy Blu-ray collection was released by Kit Parker Films. Titled Laurel & Hardy: The Definitive Restorations, the four disc set consists of two feature films (Sons of the Desert and Way Out West) and 17 short subjects. The set includes the video debut of The Battle of the Century, the film which has the largest pie fight in motion picture history. The Music Box, Brats, Helpmates, The Midnight Patrol, and others are part of the compilation, too. The Blu-ray set, also available on six DVD's, includes L & H movies restored by UCLA's Film and TV Archives department, Jeff Joseph/SabuCat, and the Library of Congress. This collection also contains eight hours of special features, such as interviews, L & H studio scene and publicity still photographs, L & H film posters from around the world, contracts, scripts, trailers, and more. Last week, I wrote a review/web article on the set. The link to the review is listed below. What would be your favorite Laurel and Hardy film? Thanks, Marshall Link to Laurel & Hardy: The Definitive Restorations Blu-ray set: https://hubpages.com/entertainment/L...Blu-ray-Review |

My aunt used to adore watching Laurel And Hardy movies and even today she still watches them and every time a Laurel And Hardy movie would always come on TV my mom would always have to watch the movie with her because my aunt always liked to repeat their famous line "it's another fine mess you gotten us into" along with Laurel And Hardy so my aunt would adore this DVD set a lot. Does this set have the classic movie The Music Box? That's the Laurel And Hardy movie that the Ted Danson/Howie Mandel movie A Fine Mess is based on and The Music Box is a funny movie to see

How are you? Thanks for the story. Yes, The Music Box is in the set. It is such a classic film. The steps are still around all these years later in the Silver Lake area. I remember when the Ted Danson/Howie Mandel movie was released, but I've never seen it. As I mentioned, the DVD set is six discs. Take care, Marshall |

Many thanks for the excellent article & review, and the link. I'm always interested to read about recovery and restoration efforts for early films. Really exciting and interesting about the silent classic, "The Battle of the Century."
