Default Why did TV One cut down on The Cosby Show

They used to play two hours of Family Matters and then two hours of Cosby on week days, but then suddenly they just stopped airing Cosby and started playing 4 hours of FM instead, and only one hour of Cosby in the morning. I like FM and all, but 8 episodes a night? That means that they go through an entire season in only 3 days! And then of course there's the all night marathon on Friday's, which means that sometimes you see the same episode three times in 2 months.

The good thing about it though is since they play so many episodes, that it doesn't take them long to go through the later seasons (which I don't like that much), so I don't have to wait very long for them to get back to season 1.

They were also airing it on weeknights at 11 P.M. for a while before Good Times came on, but that only lasted for a few weeks and then they put another hour of Good Times in the place of Cosby. I wonder why?

It would be really nice to see it back in Nick@Nite again but of course that will never happen.

The obvious reason probably is The Cosby Show repeats wouldn't do nearly as well in ratings now after all Bill Cosby's rape details came out. Family Matters doesn't have any controversy like that.

I wish that The Cosby Show was on later in the day instead of early in the morning.
