Default Mindy Cohn sang backup on Michael Jackson hit song.

Mindy Cohn just said that she sang on MJ's big post Thriller hit "Pretty Young Thing".https://pagesix.com/2020/07/20/facts...acksons-p-y-t/

Considering on how badly Mindy sang on the one Facts of Life episode and that she never released any recorded music, I wonder if they cut the mike out when she sang into it.

On what "Facts of Life" episode did Mindy sing badly?

Wow! That's crazy. Mindy wasn't a singer, and Michael wouldn't do her show. Yet she's invited to record backing vocals on his album?

Well, Mindy is friends with Kim, who is friends with Janet, who is the sister of Michael. So it's one of those friends of a friends scenario.

Can't remember. A show from the 2nd season or very early 3rd season.

MINDY also sang in the Xmas episode from season 6: when the whole gang sang for the prisoners (although she was singing with NANCY MCKEON in the 'Xmas in the big house' episode).

They probably mixed her vocals way down. Or - as you said - maybe the mic wasn’t live. I remember when she auditioned for Nellie Forbush and it wasn’t pretty.

It definitely wasn't pretty, I agree.

But Mindy says that she's also "the kids at the end", indicating that we must also hear her voice at the end of the song. So it doesn't seem possible that they mixed her vocals all the way down. Maybe just 90%?

And now I have that episode of The Cosby Show stuck in my head. The one where Claire and Theo visit Stevie Wonder's recording studio, and he inexplicably asks them to record with him, and Theo does his awful "Jammin' on the rock" rap. Except now it's Michael Jackson, and Mindy is screeching "...and sennnddd hiiimmm onnnn hiiiisss waaaayyyy!!!!"

And Michael's like, "Good, good. Let's take it from the top, again. Only this time, try it a little less screechy."

And then Mindy says, "Okay, I could try that."

After a dozen more takes, they stick her voice at the end, mixed with the children's voices.

I never liked that much MINDY COHN's voice anyway: while she was a kid as NATALIE GREEN she was cute, but to have that childish voice as an adult is kind of weird......

It was "Jammin' on the one."

I'm not even sure that anyone ever knew what that was supposed to mean.

I adore Mindy's little girl voice. I just believe she's not a great singer. Certainly, "Wash that Man Right Out of My Hair" wasn't her best work. But I look forward to listening to the MJ song, in hopes I'll get to hear Mindy, and that she's actually good! (Molly sure was, on that Christmas album!)

I didn't like MOLLY's singing at all: she was terrible and a lot worse than MINDY lol!

On another note: MINDY was good while she was singing with NANCY during the Xmas episode, so maybe she'd be okay singing with MJ (some people sing better as a duet than on their own)

Molly's singing got better with age. She sounds much better now a days. I never seen Mindy do a concert tour.
