Default Watching the first two seasons of All in the Family and see the same issues back then

1. Mike stivic writing a letter to the president about race relations and poverty,
2. Archie nervous about unemployment because his job is laying people off,
3. Archie reading in the NY Daily News about minorities protesters throwing bricks at the cops,
4. Archie and mike discussing who is the best candidate for the 1972 President election

It is everything that is going on in 2020 minus the pandemic. If it was a pandemic episode i can see Archie yelling to Mike.........."Will you take that Mask off while we are in the house"

That was funny the time Mike went to a Vietnam protest rally and it was on the news that it was turning violent ! Gloria and Edith begged Archie to go look for Mike there and convince him to come home and Archie ended up getting arrested and put in jail with a bunch of hippie protesters !!

If I remember correctly Allan Melvin, in his pre Barney Hefner days, was in the ep as a Police Sargeant who was Polish. Of course Archie puts his foot in his mouth with The Sarge.—who gets even by giving Archie’s paperwork to a one finger typist. Yeah if I were Archie I wouldn’t have come home a happy camper either.

Yeah, I was thinking that! I was pretty sure that this was the same ep. with the Polish police Sargent ! Sargent Pulanski I think his name was !

Yeah , and Mike came back from the protest totally fine right ? Archie would really be mad that the woman overreacted making him find Mike and HE was the one that ended up in trouble !!

It's sad how little we've progressed in 50 years.

If any show invites a discussion about politics and issues, it's AITF.

That having been said, I said what I have to say.

But yes, when I watch the shows, I'm amazed at how much of it is still relevant.

Just change some of the names and it's still current.
