I love, love, love the original opening sequence to Wings and back when the show was running, I never missed it. It was such a disappointment when they discontinued it in the third season. It was absolutely brilliant from the first squawks of the seagulls to the final squeak of the wheels hitting the runway. Along with a fabulous piano and cello rendition of a Schubert sonata (alluding, perhaps, to Helen's aspirations as a cellist) it was sheer perfection.
What I'd like to know, though, is how they filmed the Cessna in flight so beautifully.

I TOTALLY AGREE! I think the opening is beautiful. One of my favorite shows ever (note the shout out in my av).
I am SO HAPPY I bought the entire series. The best $30 I’ve ever spent!
