in mid season 8 , sammy the song writer moved into Bentley's Apt and it was no explanation as to why he left and where he went

He returns in season 10

Also, in season 10 or 11 (I think) Bentley has another sublease tenant.... some blonde girl, forget her name, but Louise really disliked her at first.

I'm pretty sure Bentley had to go to Russia for a while related to his work. They had a welcome home party for him when he returned and he talks about Russia.

But then Sammy disappeared after moving in during season 8 and so far has not appeared once in season 9. Lionel also hasnt appeared in season 9 and supposed to be in Japan
