I'm watching the series for the first time on METV, and they recently started Season 6 when John Boy left the series. Up until he left, I had always assumed that the narrations to start and end each episode were supposed to be adult John Boy reading excerpts from his first novel. I guess that was a bad assumption, since the narrations continue after the novel is published. But what really doesn't make sense though is how can adult John Boy reflect on events that occurred in Walton's Mountain while he is in New York?
