Update: Paramount Cancels "COPS", A&E Cancels "Live PD"
"Live PD" Episodes, "COPS" Pulled from Schedule Amid George Floyd Death
by Denise Petski June 5, 2020 A&E has pulled this weekend’s episodes of its hit docuseries "Live PD" amid continued nationwide protests and outrage over the death of George Floyd at the hands of police, Deadline has confirmed. “Out of respect for the families of George Floyd and others who have lost their lives, in consultation with the departments we follow, and in consideration for the safety of all involved, we have made the decision not to broadcast Live PD this weekend,” A&E said in a statement. The network will air encore episodes of "Live Rescue" in its place. Additionally, Paramount Network has shelved police series "COPS", we’ve confirmed. The series did not air in its normal slot Monday, and we hear there are no plans to run any episodes in the future. Paramount Network has been moving away from all unscripted programming. https://deadline.com/2020/06/live-pd...ng-1202952289/ |

"COPS" Canceled at Paramount Network; "Live PD" Return Evaluated by A&E
by Nellie Andreeva June 9, 2020 "COPS‘" six-year run on Paramount Network and its predecessor has come to an end. Pulled last week in the aftermath of George Floyd’s death, the series will not be coming back. “COPS is not on the Paramount Network and we don’t have any current or future plans for it to return,” a Paramount Network spokesperson said in a statement to Deadline. Regarding "Live PD", A&E is evaluating the right time to bring it back, though a return this weekend appears unlikely at the moment. https://deadline.com/2020/06/cops-ca...ae-1202954910/ |

"Live P.D." Cancelled by A&E Amid Ongoing Protests Against Police Brutality
by Nellie Andreeva June 10, 2020 A&E has canceled its flagship series and one of the highest-rated shows on basic cable. A week after "Live P.D." was pulled in the wake of George Floyd’s death, the reality series’ hiatus has been made permanent. The decision was made jointly by A&E and MGM’s Big Fish Entertainment, which produces the show. “This is a critical time in our nation’s history and we have made the decision to cease production on Live PD,” the network said in a statement to Deadline. “Going forward, we will determine if there is a clear pathway to tell the stories of both the community and the police officers whose role it is to serve them. And with that, we will be meeting with community and civil rights leaders as well as police departments.” https://deadline.com/2020/06/live-pd...yd-1202956175/ |

You can say that again. Cops has been canceled, and now they are going after Paw Patrol. What's next? Streaming services removing Unsolved Mysteries? Or maybe Fox retracting their announced plans to revive America's Most Wanted? Be as politically incorrect as you want. Display the Amecian flag. Wear a religious necklace. Wear a shirt with an "offensive" slogan, like: "God Bless America," "Ban Idiots, Not Guns," or "All Lives Matter."
The late actor Charlton Heston said it best: "Political correctness is tyranny with manners." |

Guess what? A&E is now in a ratings slump. You know the old saying: You reap what you sow.

"Cops" Back in Production on New Episodes Following Cancellation
by Nellie Andreev October 1, 2020 Long-running docu-reality series "Cops" is back in production four months after it was canceled by Paramount Network. In a press release put out on Sept. 30, the Spokane County Sheriff’s Office announced that two "Cops" film crews have been riding with Spokane County Sheriff’s Office and Spokane Valley Deputies since September. Filming will continue through the first week of November. “We have a longstanding relationship with Cops and Langley productions, and we are pleased they have decided to return, highlighting the outstanding work our Deputies provide to all of you,” the Sheriff’s Department said in the press release, adding that "Cops" film crews have ridden with Spokane County Sheriff’s Office and Spokane Valley Deputies for many years. A spokesperson for "Cops" producer Langley Prods. told Deadline that the show is producing fresh episodes for international territories only, and there are no plans for them to air in the U.S. https://deadline.com/2020/10/cops-ba...on-1234590025/ |
