I wonder why they're showing the 1966 opening and closing on ALL the episodes-even the ones from the first 2 seasons? They didn't before.

I think METV is using the prints from when the show first went into syndicated reruns in 1966. i watched the reruns a lot growing up in New Jersey and even after we moved to Minnesota in 1972, and noticed the earlier episodes had the same Meet the Flintstones theme instead of Rise and Shine.

The original syndicated reruns only replaced the "Rise and Shine" episodes with the third-season opening and a generic third season closing. The 4th-6th season openings only appeared on those episodes.
