Post Epiosde skipping, more on the "Draft Dodger"

There must be underlying reasons why episodes are skipped. I would hope that the reason for "The Draft Dodger" possibly being skipped when we are going to be one episode away from it is not because the episode is a Christmas episode. If this is the reason then I have to say that Nick at Nite is not taking the viewer into consideration and that's their job! The fact that this episode is a Christmas episode should not be the reason why it is skipped. This particular episode is one of the top 3 episodes in the entire show's history. Considering how great and successful the show was that is an amazing accomplishment. I guess Nick at Nite disagrees with the top 3 characterization because they are not airing it as it is currently scheduled. This is unfortunate considering episode 148 airs at 11pm Sunday according to their schedule and according to their episode guide #149 is "The Draft Dodger." So the question is will it air Sunday at 11:30pm or will they irresponsibly skip to 154 as it is scheduled now, we shall see. My guess is that since they didn't schedule it originally they won't come to their senses and air it at 11:30pm on Sunday and that could dissappoint an anger many viewers including me. Twice I emailed them a well written request for the episode to air and I have received no response. If you ask me, not very good consumer relations. Skipping the episode is a travesty by Nick at Nite and people besides me should speak out and express their disagreement about what Nick at Nite is doing with regard to this episode. Hound Nick at Nite by inundating them with complaints about what they are doing with this epsisode and force the station to air the episode, you the viewer can make a difference! Thanks for reading!

Red face

NAN did not air Draft Dodger Saturday Night at 11pm. I watched that episode and it certainly was not "The Draft Dodger." If you are looking at NAN's schedule but not their episode guide and comparing the episode # to a different episode guide you may get fooled like I was into believing that "The Draft Dodger" was supposed to air. NAN's epiosde guide holds #149 as "The Draft Dodger", it should have aired yesterday at 11:30pm after 11pm's episode # 148 but NAN irresponsibly skipped to #154.

Here is my reaction to this:

Well Nick at Nite blew it they went ahead, despite my pleaing, and skipped the "Draft Dodger" as scheduled. I guarantee you that the lame reason they did this was because it was a Christmas episode. I just wish schedule makers would think before they act. Who cares if it is a Christmas episode! This episode of AITF is one of the best ones in existance. This is a top 3 episode in my opinion and that is just an incredibly bold statement to make considering how many great performances there were through the years on this show. Norman Lear has to be disappointed in the shotty scheduling Nick at Nite has done
with AITF. Norman Lear always said that this episode is one of his most precious creations. Why not share it with world NAN when you have the opportunity? They aired episode 148 at 11pm last night from their episode guide and number 149 is "The Draft Dodger" in that same guide but at 11:30pm NAN blew their opportunity by skipping to
epiosde 154. This is an absolute disgrace and they will hear about it from me, count on it! I have the chance to borrow someone's homemade AITF VHS tape that includes "The Draft Dodger" so I'll try
and get my hands on it by myself because NAN is not smart enough to satisfy their viewers by airing the episode so they are an unreliable source and you can't count on them to do the right thing. Thanks for reading.

"I guarantee you that the lame reason they did this was because it was a Christmas episode."

I'm not so sure that is the reason. Nick seems to skip the same episodes over and over, so could it be that Nick did not buy all of the original episodes? Nick has to pay to rebroadcast AITF reruns, and I'm thinking maybe they are just too cheap to buy them all. I'm not sure how many episodes they skip, but it seems like a lot of them are missing in action.

They REALLY are fast-forwarding the seasons, with quite a few episodes a season missing. They're already in the EIGHTH SEASON(latter, soon final Mike and Gloria episodes), and only after two months, they'll be in the STEPHANIE episodes

"The Draft Dodger" did air. I can't tell you exactly what day or time they showed it, but it did air within the last few days. I always have a hard time watching it, so I bailed out halfway through.

I have a list of episodes I wish they'd air:

Edith's Christmas
Edith's 50th Birthday
Gloria Almost Gets Raped
Archie Eats and Runs
The Draft Dodger

Whether it aired or not for some people is not such a big deal for me anymore because someone is sending me a tape with the episode on it along with Edith's rape episode. So I'll have "The Draft Dodger" in my possession soon enough. Thanks for everyone's input about the subject.
