I like this episode for several reasons, but I call attention to the homeroom teacher assignment lists on the bulletin boards

One of the advantages we have today is with DVDs, DVR and such, is our ability to pause or rewind/pause as needed to make out small details. Having said that, it's interesting to see the producer's efforts for realism despite the fact that even the sharpest eyes would have trouble focusing on scenes in real time "back in the day".

I get a kick out of their choice of fictitious names, some of them using the names of the producer's and variations of names in the cast. Mosher, Connely, and "Barb Billings". The 'Wally's Test' episode did much the same thing. One of the episodes, one involving a typewriter, showed a typed page but upon pausing one could readily see that it was what could only be called "deliberate gibberish" or jabberwocky.

Another thing that stood out, given June's prudishness, was her restrained reaction in seeing Wally with Julie Foster in the park. I thought she'd have a heart attack or choke herself clutching her pearls.

Eddie was in perfect form here too. Of course his faux overtures to the Cleaver parents were good as always, but when he added ( to Beaver ) "hello little fellow" in a manner so smarmy that even 'Bill Lumbergh' would blush, I cackle out loud.

When Beaver first spots Wally, June goes, "Our Wally?", Ward should have asked, "Dear, how many Wallys do we know?"

You're right, it's pretty interesting that they chose to make real-looking lists. In those days there were no home-use playback devices of any kind for TV. There were professional devices (videotape recorders with large tape reels) but they were not used for filmed shows at the time--those were played back on actual film projectors which I don't think had a capability to pause.

It could be that some lackey--a prop man or decorator--was told to make a list of names with grades (making sure the cast names were on there) and they did, with no thought to its actual visibility.

I mentioned on another post that when they listed the grades in Wally’s Test a Sandy Montel got a 49 worse than Lumpy. How about how they used Dolph Zimmer when they made up an author for the millionaire book, Oscar Zimmer. What are some of the names on the lists in Teacher’s Daughter? I haven’t paused it and only can see on Uncle Earl’s Classic TV. I did notice another Thompson as a teacher.
