I am in the minority but really when Devon had to cancel Michael's plans or that of a vacation turning into a working one and despite Michael's weakness for women and having him in an episode go with Bonnie in the "Ice Bandits" go to this FLAG function on his day off. Really IMHO, Devon crossed a line there in interfering with his life.
Really Devon was a great friend and a father figure and a good boss but really as a human being he kind of sucked. Liked him in the first season but in the second and beyond seasons, he really really interfered as Michael needed to have a life outside of work. Sure things come as an accident and Michael complied of course. But he needed to have some time as really Devon was wrong on some things. Wished both men worked out trust at times. As Michael needed time to himself and not always having to work without a break. That was not fair for him and IMHO, when Bonnie may have moved to her apartment in season 3 coming back after having April briefly in season 2 so that Devon would not do that to Bonnie's life. Sure Devon was under a lot of pressure especially from the head boss b**ch Jennifer Knight. But still wished there was an episode where both Bonnie and Michael mutiny and Devon finally gave in to their demands without crossing a line. But also maybe they needed to "kidnap" Devon to see what he was missing and knowing you are happy to have a job but do not make it where you miss out on life. Anybody agree with me. |

I thought Devon was awesome. Intelligent, firm but flexible, he made a great mentor.
