Does Bob Hearts Abishola = Mike & Molly?

Think about it ....

It's a romantic comedy. Again. He plays the fat funny love interest. Again.

The guys in the diner are traded for the girls (nurses) in their facility and/or the funny Nigerian gentlemen in the factory.

Two sets of family - instead of Molly's mom and sister, we have the aunt and uncle - oh and Bob's family of course.

Anyone? Or is it just me seeing similarities?

There are some similarities in that their families are dysfunctional and the clash of cultures is funny, but Abishola is not Molly.

I think she's drier, much more serious, and in some ways, a better partner for Bob. She's more rooted and down to earth and yet, he brings out her humor that she tries to hide.

I like both shows.

I do wish, however, that Melissa McCarthy would guest star as a former girlfriend of Bob's...I think that could be a lot of fun.
