Default Would Fred Willard Have Made a Great Game Show Host?

With the passing of Fred Willard, i read that he was a great ad libber and led me to wonder that he would have made a great game show host. He was one of the hosts of NBC's Real People and hosted a short lived cable series Access America but he never got the opportunity to host a game show.

He had the perfect personality to run a game show. He had the ability to ad lib, to think on his feet and most of all a great sense of humor. Willard would have made a great host for Match Game after Gene Rayburn left us. He may be gone, my his memory lives on.

Funny you should mention Match Game. Fred Willard hosted an unsold game show pilot in 2004. It was called What the Blank - a renamed version of Match Game. Wink Martindale posted a video of it a couple of days ago.

Personally I don't think he would've. He was one of those people where you either liked him or you didn't like him and I didn't like him. I never thought Fred Willard was that funny or interesting, sorry.

Ed.
