Default If Antenna brought back a show...

...what would you pick? Personally, I would prefer "Bachelor Father" (absolutely no chance of that) or more realistically "Gidget" (which I can actually see coming back for a summer run).

The Original One Day at the Time. It’s been a few years since Antenna TV last aired it.

These are four shows that used to air on Antenna TV it would be great to see brought back. I will also list four shows currently on their lineup that they would basically replace. Not necessarily at the same times though, when I have more time later will come up with a good schedule that would have these four swapped out shows, plus Who's the Boss? pickup that is coming in fall.

Returning Shows That Have Been Missed
Bachelor Father- much better than the other 50s show with Father in its title that has never left Antenna TV
Leave it to Beaver- I know it airs on Me TV, but Antenna should snatch Beaver back whenever that contract expires. Even with a local affiliate now, Comcast still won't put Me TV on their channels.
Mr. Belvedere- one of TV's most underrated sitcoms ever
Newhart- Being robbed of its New Year's Eve farewell marathon was the worst part of my being a few months between affiliates. It would be nice to have Newhart and Coach from the same writers on Antenna's schedule at the same time.

Good Riddance to These Shows
Dennis the Menace- The acting and writing on Leave it to Beaver run circles around this show. Joseph Kearns was good as the first Mr. Wilson, but Jay North's acting sucks and he shouts most of his lines. And the Cleavers were much better parents on Leave it to Beaver, Dennis' parents were way too permissive especially for a show from the black and white era.
Archie Bunker's Place- The overload of Norman Lear's crap had finally left Antenna TV for good, then this All in the Family continuation/spin-off came. Maude is also still on, but at least it has been reduced to weekend filler.
Alice- Barney Miller tried an experiment with Linda Lavin in the cast to have a female cop. This experiment was short lived as she is a mediocre actress. Even more so for a show she was the lead of like Alice. It's a Living is no Wings, but is easily better than the other restaurant set show on Antenna TV, Alice.
Designing Women- The 90s had several great quality sitcoms including three that are on Antenna's current roster: Wings, Coach, and Murphy Brown. Designing Women is awful though, one of the worst long-running sitcoms from the 90s. It was probably trying to be like The Golden Girls (may that way overplayed show never come to a retronet). The difference is, Designing Women never had the popularity of The Golden Girls. Designing Women only lasted as long as it did because of CBS being weak with lack of sitcom hits in the 90s compared to NBC and ABC.

My ideal schedule has the 4 shows I mentioned (Newhart, Mr. Belvedere, Leave it to Beaver, and Bachelor Father) replacing the other 4 shows (Archie Bunker's Place, Alice, Dennis the Menace, and Designing Women). Also, I forgot WKRP in Cincinnati used to air on Antenna, that show will replace Gimme a Break!

While I would love to see shows like Newhart, Mr. Belvedere, and WKRP return, unfortunately they're no longer under the ownership of Fox. Disney owns them now and from what I understand, they don't deal with channels like Antenna. Also, I think One Day at a Time would be a good one for them to get back seeing as nobody else is airing it even GetTV so I don't really understand why they can't get it back. Also Too close for Comfort.

The FCC is a pathetic joke of an organization. They never should have approved Disney's takeover of FOX Studios. Walt Disney is rolling over in his grave at how his company has been handled. Shame on the Disney corporation for only caring about Disney+ and not allowing the retronets to air any of their shows.
