It was 50 Years Ago Today...that The Beatles were No More!

By this time...The Beatles were going in different directions...Paul McCartney actually wanted to keep The Beatles together...but music politics made it more frustrating to Paul.

The song "The Long and Winding Road" was the final nail of The Beatles Coffin!

McCartney even asked Alan Klein in a letter that says this...

Dear Sir,
In future no one will be allowed to add to or subtract from a recording of one of my songs without my permission.

I had considered orchestrating The Long And Winding Road but I had decided against it. I therefore want it altered to these specifications:-

1. Strings, horns, voices and all added noises to be reduced in volume.
2. Vocal and Beatle instrumentation to be brought up in volume.
3. Harp to be removed completely at the end of the song and original piano notes to be substituted.
4. Don’t ever do it again.

Unfortunately...McCartney's demands weren't requested! John Lennon did what he damn well pleased. Also at this point George Harrison was feeling left-out because Lennon nor McCartney weren't using much of his songs...I dunno who had the say-so...but I think McCartney wouldn't minded another George Harrison song. And Ringo...he was just in the ride.

Wow, 50 years! After the breakup, The Beatles went on to have solo efforts, I know John, Paul & George have did their own solo work.

Wow, I wonder if there will be any retrospectives about the anniversary? I'm guessing not many celebrations, though. But it's interesting that it's been that long!
