Default Men For All Seasons

Stinker episode

Not much to say for this one except that I LOVE Mrs. Garret's hair. I can't tell what she did to it...The bun looks completely gone so I guess she cut it?! It just looks really great on her and I love the way it bounces in the back of her shoulders. It's a really fresh and young style for her.

Natalie's a writer/journalist. So she of all people should know if the college tells her not to sell calendars with the Langley name on it, she can't say "no, i'll sell them if I want to". It has their NAME on it dummy which is surely copyrighted and if you don't have their permission to sell something with their name on it, you DON'T SELL THEM! End of discussion.

As a writer, she should've known this off the bat. It was just very weird.

And just where the hell is that stockroom?! It looks like it's where the kitchen was?! LOL! Then where the hell did the kitchen go?! There's no room for both back there! Did they move the whole damn kitchen to another part of the house in the rebuilding?!

Not a great episode, but at least it had Mrs. G to save it from totally stinking.

I feel like Mrs. Garrett did a Benjamin Button-style reverse aging, looking her oldest in Season 1 of DS, and gradually de-aging.

It's a kitchen-slash-stockroom, much like the kitchen-slash-bathroom Joey and Chandler wanted Ross to get, on Friends: impractical, yet off-screen, which is all that matters on television.

I never thought of it like that, but you're right. She looked much older at the beginning and gradually became younger looking as the seasons went by. Maybe that's why she had to leave...a couple of more seasons and she'd be just one of the girls.

I have a vague memory of that Friends episode.

I originally thought the storeroom may have been on the left side of the store because Mrs. G did say to the contractor she wanted to extend that wall a few feet. That would've made sense...but when I saw Natalie walk into where the kitchen was to talk to Calendar Guy, they were in the storeroom. I was all like WTH?!

You guys are absolutely right: MRS G looked younger as the season went by and could have easily pass as a mother to the girls (whereas on season 1 she looked more like a granny lol!)

Ha ha ha cfr1970!

MRS G definitely became one of the girls lol!

And yes, the episode totally sucked from what i remembered: it takes a pro like MRS G to save it of course!

I don't care for the episode overall but it does have my favorite Andy scene of the series. When Mrs. Garrett is on the phone trying to schedule the delivery for the Langley jackets, she asks Andy to hand her the calendar to see what day the date she was told falls on. Mrs. Garrett goes, "I think that falls right in the middle of...half naked men. Oh my. OH MY!" Andy grabs the phone from her and says to the person, "And why are they half naked? Because they haven't got their Langley jackets, that's why!" I'm not much of an Andy fan but I thought he did this scene pretty well.

That was a funny scene, especially Mrs. Garrett's reaction to the calendar. I'm surprised how much I like Andy this time around. As a teen watching, his presence annoyed me and I called him Cousin Oliver lol.
But he blends well with the others and isn't shown long enough to really dislike him.

I liked this episode too, actually. It was about a superficial subject but it had a lot depth to it, and we get to see Mrs. Garrett have a heart-to-heart with Natalie, which we rarely see in this late in the show. It felt like a traditional episode of the series where one of the girls learns a good lesson. You shouldn't be with someone if you're all that you're after them for is their looks. Denny was a trophy boyfriend who was very naive and he just didn't seem like Natalie's type. I'm glad they broke it off. Denny seemed like he could be Blair's boyfriend more.

The only thing that felt out of character was Natalie felt really dumbed down in the episode, she couldn't even state the first amendment, something she would have known about in earlier seasons when she was a journalist for Eastland. I knew she was wrong about keeping the calendars in the store, I guess she didn't understand that you can't sell something that uses their copyrighted logo and someone's image or likeness without their consent.

I wonder if during construction they expanded the space to build a room for the stock items (I think you're right, it must've been where the kitchen was). I also remember that in "Grand Opening," one of the girl's motioned to the living room, when one of the customers was looking for a fitting room. Hmm...wonder where that fitting room could be? The tiny hallway between the store and the living room

Anyway, this was one of the better ones of season 7.

There is no way DENNY could have been BLAIR's type either: (in fact, none of the girls type) she tends to like guys who challenge her, such as BEN or the SOCIAL WORKER (i really cannot remember his name) from the final season.

DENNY was too much of a 'GOODY TWO SHOES' for the 'Core of 4'

You're right, he wasn't. He was too much of dumb jock/airhead for the girls. He kind of reminded me of Rex from "Love at First Byte," all looks, and no depth.
