In 1992 to honor Walt Disney World's 25th Anniversary CBS aired a special called The Dream Is Alive. Sponsored by Pampers Diapers The Dream Is Alive took the biggest celebrities from Hollywood and TV and the music world as we see former Disney CEO Michael Eisner go on his biggest adventure ever as he tries to find the perfect host for the show but it turns into a Disney version of The Amazing Race before the show is finished filming. The celebrities featured in The Dream Is Alive were Carol Burnett Patti Labelle Tim Allen Goldie Hawn Whoopi Goldberg the late Robin Williams Park Overall Sandi Patti Eddie Murphy Angela Lansbury Amy Grant Dolly Parton Garth Brooks Regis Philbin and Kathie Lee Gifford Steve Martin Dinosaurs star Baby Sinclair Robert Guillaume and of course.. Billy Joel. This special featured "though it wasn't listed in the intro" a special honorary salute to America's heroes that featured former President George HW Bush and former First Lady Barbara Bush. Also exclusive to this special is a special music video where the featured celebrities and Disney cast members and characters sing The Dream Is Alive the title song of this special. While rare to find complete this special is perfect for any Disney fan who wants a look at nostalgia from the 90's. The Billy Joel appearance is the same When You Wish Upon A Star music video as seen in the Simply Mad About The Mouse video which you can learn more about in the Simply Mad About The Mouse thread of the Chit-Chat Music board here. But for Disney fanatics this special is a must see

I wonder why Disney doesn't have wonderful specials like The Dream Is Alive anymore. Because the specials were so cool to watch and very fun. Mom and I used to be addicted to Disney specials and when each special would come on TV we would record them on blank tapes. Believe it or not I have The Dream Is Alive on tape but it got worn out and broken so I was lucky to watch it on Youtube and post about it. If Freeform or Disney+ would air Disney specials it would be a monster hit
