I went on to the Antenna website to see which eps really catch my fancy and will watch those. It will be nice to see this again—haven’t watched the show in years but remember it fondly.

My heart though is in ODAAT. My friends are there and it’s a good escape from the Politics Board, which is really making me sick and beginning to affect my mental health.

Trying to figure out why Archie was on the side of the Loan Officer's death instead of the front lol

Why is Edith not seen in these first eps but appears later on?

I didn’t dislike Gloria, but could live without her. I liked the other characters much more. Especially Veronica. I got to mean AnnMeara in person maybe 35 years ago. She was SUPER NICE and very attractive in person. The roles she plays make her up to look like a frump. In real life, SHE WAS NOT!

I like how they used the same loan officer from the episode where he bought the bar.

Jean Stapleton only agreed to appear in five episodes that season. These first episodes focused on establishing the bar as the new show’s primary setting, and Murray as Archie’s new partner. When Edith appeared, she played a major role in the episode, with the episode taking place mainly at the Bunker home. That would have conflicted with the purpose of the first few episodes.

They’re not showing any of the Edith episodes today.

I was just offended by Archie assuming Murray was gay because he is not married and single lol

Would you by any chance be a ***??

So I guess someone can assume I am gay because I have no kids, not married and live alone

I really didn’t like Veronica. She wasn’t particularly likable to me, and I thought Anne Meara overacted.

I can see why the producers felt so hamstrung by an alive, but off-camera Edith. Most of the episodes during the first season had to take place entirely at that dingy bar with the old men. I don’t know what they were thinking when they set up that show - why so many old men as regulars? Why not give Archie a younger partner who tries to modernize the bar? Maybe some younger waitstaff and a more interesting character as the cook?

I adore Ann Meara. She was great in King of Queens with her real life husband Jerry Stiller. In KOQ, she had a major crush on "Arthur" who couldn't stand her. She played a frumpy, low class trampy hag in that show.

I want to know how were they able to pay her 400 dollars a week and still be in business

That's really, really dumb! There are tons of unmarried, childless men who are heterosexual. Why should anyone have kids just because they can? And why should anyone get married just because they can? Stupid!
