Nodsmiley GROWING PAINS

Today i was watching the episode 'Growing pains' from season 3 (probably for the million time) and i was pleased to see BLAIR acting as the daring and wild one like in her old days:
bringing 'BOOZE' and being the team leader of the 4 for a change, was rather refreshing! (especially after having JO as the rebellious in season 2).

JO actually even went along for once, and didn't try to take the leadership from her 'frenemy' BLAIR!

It was heartbroken watching TOOTIE being victimized and treated like the 'baby' though!

And MRS G did a wonderful job (as usual) making her girls look as if they were the ones begging to be punished by her, when we know all along that's what she intended to do ha ha ha!

Oh, and of course: it had to be one of 'BLAIR'S BRILLIANT IDEAS!'

PS: and it was the first interaction between MR PARKER vs MRS G ha ha ha!

Was this the one where Jo keeps saying "I got beer!" whenever someone asked how she got it?

I like this one too and I also felt so bad for poor Tootie, especially after she got herself drunk on the wine.

The episode page on Wikipedia says this was the first episode where Kim Fields wears her braces. So that means she wore those damn things for THREE YEARS!! I had no idea kids wore them for that long!

Hey, i wore braces too when i was a kid (from age 8 until 12) and i always thought they looked cute on children!

And yes: that was the episode where JO kept saying "i got BEER!" (talk about having repeat lines lol!)

TOOTIE did a great acting as the 'drunk' one, and i'm surprised that MR PARKER didn't suspect anything (he just kept saying how being a monitor is an important job).

I GOT BEER!

Tootie got really lucky there. If Mr. Parker saw she was drunk she definitely would've been expelled and Mrs. Garrett fired for covering it!

I love the early episodes where they all get themselves in trouble together. The one where they all go to the bar when Jo first arrives is another great one.

The early seasons are definitely the bests: i love how the 5 of them always stick together (MRS G covering for her girls as usual) for better or worse, and i found their story line a lot deeper and emotional than in the later seasons.....

Season 7, 8 and 9 aired weird episodes most of the time (not all of them of course) and having BLAIR acting as the 'dumb' or the 'bad' guy really irritated me!

Season 7 starts next Tuesday with Edna's Edibles burning down. I'm looking forward to the later seasons because it's been so long since seeing most of them. I wonder if i'll hate them as much as you do valentina.

Tomorrow is the full hour of "Gone With the Wind" on Antenna TV and I can't wait to finally see it!!

The only episode i like from season 7 is the first one 'Out of the fire' but Youtube won't let me watch it!

I hope you enjoy tomorrow's episode, and let us now how it was!

Of course I will for sure! It looks like a fun episode but I see Mrs. G isn't in it.

BTW it says they visit Natalie's grandmother in Florida. Is that the same grandma that we've seen before in the funeral episode and when she visited Eastland? I like her.

As the youngest myself, that was always hard to watch as a kid too.

I don't see that at all. Mrs. Garrett didn't manipulate anything. She was stunned by Blair's idea, thought it was inappropriately ridiculous, and wasn't going for it until she thought about it. The way you're looking at it takes away the sincerity of the whole thing, including Mrs. Garrett's willingness to take this one chance on them.

But yes, I do agree Kim did a wonderful job acting drunk! "Oh, hi Mr. Parker! Mrs. Garrett!" "Oh, hi Mr. Parker! Mrs. Garrett!"

Mrs. Garrett: [sniff sniff] "Tootie! I smell liquor!"

Tootie: [sniff sniff] "So do I!"

I guess everyone's got their point of view, but i don't think MRS G thought that BLAIR's idea wasn't 'brilliant' (the other girls certainly thought it was great!) she was even meditating about it, and i'm positive she was never going to report her girls: and even if she wasn't 'manipulating' them, she was probably thinking of a way to get the girls out of trouble....
