Default "Man in the Attic"

Ok episode---but no Mrs. G!! Boo!

I think Kevin is alright, but his acting is a little too wooden as well. (Maybe he went to the same acting school as Nick the coke head.)

Going through their dirty laundry was beyond creepy. Tootie was so right to be appalled by that! Lord only knows what he did with their dirty bras and panties before washing them.

And that kitchen is behind the damn stairs so there's absolutely NO way for there to be a window in front of where Tootie was standing when she said he was shaving in front of a window. The STAIRS are over there Tootie!!

Does Kevin just stay up in that attic forever now never to be seen again?! I read here someone saying he only appears in a few episodes...Does he just disappear up there?

And what about that mysterious room the girls busted the wall for in a later episode?! Or was that the attic too??

Kevin mysteriously disappears and the attic isn't mentioned for a while. Eventually, the girls go searching for something (maybe Tootie's roller skates?), and Blair falls through the attic wall, which they make into another room.

They never show Kevin's skeleton in the attic, but I think we all know it's there.

Maybe he was listening to disco on his radio, and it short circuited again and caused the fire that burned down Edna Edibles while the girls were away.

An excellent theory! And would explain, maybe, why no skeleton was ever found...

Yep! The girls returned to a charred radio still blaring Donna Summer next to a heap of ashes....and Blair's half burned cow sweater.

Well, "Nick the coke head" did play a mentally challenged guy in the cafeteria era.

YES! YES!! When we were having our misinformed debate over the architecture of the house, I thought of this but "kept mum" because I KNEW you would find this out in the near future! We've discussed that here before---"what window?? He's looking at the wall by the stairs! "

That was HIM?! Wow, I had no idea...his acting didn't seem as bad in that role, but here he was just terrible.

I'm glad we finally got that whole kitchen layout figured out! And just when we do, Tootie goes and messes it ALL up again! Come to think of it, that kitchen had NO windows at all!

How about Jo sells George her motorcycle when she gets married and he takes Beverly Ann out for a spin....right into a brick wall.

Sorry, but I just can't to that to little Andy and his sad puppy dog eyes...I can't help it. He's a cute little kid.

He doesn't; that was already done in "Seven Little Indians", lol.

You're right: that episode was BORING!!!!

And i missed MRS G's presence too (but please don't cry!)

And yes: KEVIN had no personality at all (even GEORGE is more fun) and was way too weak for JO as a guy boohoo!

The funny bit was when TOOTIE came up with the mega 'rule list'!

So let's all push KEVIN to the basement with the rest of the old stuff!

I didn’t like his character. He was just a dumb, desperate, sexist, straight guy who really had no redeeming qualities or reason for being there plot wise. He even said that he could not be friends with a member of the opposite sex without having feelings for them. Seems old school. He shaved out in the open in the kitchen, which was disgusting and then screwed up Blair’s sweater and was touching the girls undergarments like a creep. I was actually rooting for him to get kicked out by the end of the episode because he seemed to be totally unapologetic and very selfish about all he had done. The misunderstanding was awkward between him and Jo and the the fact that another woman (was she his girlfriend?) came into the attic out of nowhere feeding him a block of cheese was just weird. I didn’t like the outcome of the episode and wish he was kicked off.

I get they're characters, but wanting someone to die in a fire because they annoy you is sadistic. I don't like Molly, but I never wish a harmful end to her character. I think her just going away was suitable enough.

I like Man in The Attic. I like Beverly Ann and get her relation to the series in season 8, but I like seeing the main 4 in episodes on their own. They click so well with each other that it's refreshing seeing that brought out.

To be fair, they're only characters. I don't think any of us here would actually wish for real people to die in fires. That would be sadistic. But shows do things like that with their characters all the time and they die worse deaths than fires, so I can't agree that it's sadistic. They're not real people.

We see a glimpse of that in season 6 with Mrs. G gone in some episodes, and it does take on a different dynamic. Like they're all adults now dealing with things on their own. I agree they all click well with each other that they can easily do it...but I just can't help missing Mrs. G being there.

I get it but unfortunately some of us do know someone who has died in a fire and can't even begin to imagine or want to the horrors they go through during it.

You see a lot of it in season 7 too. Beverly Ann's story does fit with the premise of learning The Facts of Life, but I wish they had done a season with just the main 4 only having adventures together. That would have been neat to watch.
