Why did Crime Story do a recap of the previous episode before the new one aired? - Sitcoms Online Message Boards

Mom used to watch Crime Story and I can't figure out why each Crime Story episode played a recap of the previous episode before the new one began? Was this because Crime Story's producers decided to do this to save money?

Hi, Bestie! Crime story was one of my favorite shows. I wish they would remake it. Yes they would always have a recap of the previous episode. That was a good thing because you would forget what happened last week sometimes. Do you have any trivia on the cast?
