Default Cinnamon spin-off?

Tv.com says:
It was well known that Stacey's Character, Cinnamon, could have had her own spin-off series which would have include George Clooney, but Stacey's advisers looked for the star to pursue her singing career, not the acting.

I didn't know they wanted to do a spin-off about her and George. Is it true?

Never heard of such a thing, but Cinnamon never did anything for me. Her hair was really weird, even for the 80s. The Facts of Life was a spinoff itself and yet the producers and writers were so inept at creating their own spin offs during the series run.

I never heard this before too. You can read it on the page of episode A Star is Torn of Tv.com. I thought only six episodes were potential pilots for a spin off series

"It was well-known"? Hardly, tv.com.

I only count 4:

"Brian and Sylvia"
"The Academy"
"Jo's Cousin"
"Big Apple Blues"

I don't count "Graduation" because it's obviously a "Facts of Life" episode all about the main characters. They may have toyed with the idea of forming a spin-off around Blair and Jo at Langley, but the episode didn't show any attempt of going in that direction.

I also don't count "The Beginning", the series finale, for the same reasons. They may have set up potential directions for a spin-off, but they didn't pursue it in the episode itself.

I have heard this before but I forget where. The seeds were planted with George going off on the tour, but it wasn’t a backdoor pilot.

The actress who played CINNAMON is a real singer in real life: she sang 'Two of heart' and i used to love that song!

She also sang "We Connect" which sounded like an innocent bubblegum pop song but the lyrics were quite obscene. I believe she even sang it on the show with the lyrics intact?

Anyway, the chorus goes--

We connect when we're together
it's so perfect
Boy you shot me with your white hot love
I start to overload
I explode when we connect.

I don't think I need to interpret that for anyone do I?

Sounds perfectly innocent to me.

It's probably quite tame now compared to what's out there today. But back in the 80's when I first heard that on the radio I was like "What did she just say?!" It was scandalous!

She also guest starred on "Mama's Family" in 1989 as a rock musician as part of the girl group "The Bone Crushers"! The episode is "Bubba's House Band", and she played "Ciji" (pronounced "SEE-jee").
