they were going to remake the Rockford files!! but it didn't happen!! at one point they were going to remake murder she wrote but it didn't happen either!!

There were quite a few revivals of old Screen Gems/Columbia in the 1980s that didn’t make it past pilot stage.

- “I Dream of Jeannie: 15 Years Later” was a pilot for a revival. Only the TV movie aired
- “Dennis the Menace”, a 1988 syndicated TV movie was going to lead to a new series, but never made it past the pilot.
- “That’s My Mama Now” was a pilot for a syndicated revival with Ted Lange now in the lead. The pilot was produced but never aired.
- Plans for a syndicated two-hour “Partridge Family” TV movie were scrapped when David Cassidy pulled out after verbally agreeing. Had it been produced, it would have doubled as a pilot for a series with Keith as a single father, performing as a duo with his teenaged daughter.

There were plans a few years ago the remake the Beverly Hillbillies, and Bewitched.

NBC scrapped their plans to bring back "Coach" in 2015 due to "creative differences".

Craig T. Nelson and Bill Fagerbakke were set to reprise their roles and Shelley Fabares could not be a part of it due to health issues. Her character was going to be killed off.

Coach Hayden Fox (Nelson) — now retired from coaching — is called back to become assistant coach to his grown son Tim (Andrew Ridings), who is the new head coach at an Ivy league school in Pennsylvania that is just starting up a new team.

They were going to do a Married With Children follow up about Bud. All the original actor were interested in coming back but it sadly fell through.

I would like to see the Coach revival pilot. If I remember correctly, Pam Stone (Judy) was going to be part of it, too. And they had plans for Jerry Van Dyke to guest star had it gone to series.

I think for The Brady Bunch they were going to do a Bobby Brady Revival.

the middle was going to do a revival on Sue Heck.

Where did you get the information that the "I Dream of Jeannie" movie was a pilot for a revival of the series. The movie did very well in the rating but I never saw any potential for a series reboot. Hagman was still doing Dallas, Rorke was too old, and Eden herself was in her mid50's, a little too old to be doing this kind of comedy. The movie was bad (they actually did a second one about 5 years later).

just a guess but it probably would have been with a different cast.

There was word around March 2018 that Nickelodeon was going to revive "Clarissa Explains It All" with series star Melissa Joan Hart raising a family.

I met MJH at Nov. 2019's Christmas Con and she told me that Nickelodeon changed presidents and they felt that a "Clarissa" revival wouldn't work with their current programming.

Also, "Lizzie McGuire" was due to get a streaming series on Disney+, but the plug was pulled after two episodes had been filmed.

The creator left the series and Hilary Duff is trying to get another service, like Hulu, to pick it up.
