New "Candyman" Delayed to 2021 - Sitcoms Online Message Boards

The trailer drops Thursday, February 27th.

Described as a “spiritual sequel” to the original 1992 classic, the new movie returns to the neighborhood where the legend began: the now-gentrified section of Chicago where the Cabrini-Green housing projects once stood.

The cast is led by:

Yahya Abdul-Mateen II (Us, Aquaman)
Teyonah Parris (If Beale Street Could Talk)
Nathan Stewart-Jarrett (Misfits, Utopia)
Colman Domingo (Fear the Walking Dead, If Beale Street Could Talk)
Tony Todd as Candyman

Directed by Nia DaCosta (Little Woods) and co-written/produced by Jordan Peele (Get Out, Us).

Candyman Delayed Again

Candyman will now move into Halloween Kills' original slot of Oct. 16, 2020.

The film was previously set for Sept. 25.

Candyman Pulled from October Release and Indefinitely Delayed to 2021

Universal Pictures is no longer releasing Nia DaCosta‘s Candyman sequel on October 16, 2020, as expected at this point.

The film will now release sometime in 2021, with no new date selected at this time.
