Did the producers get the idea for the name Tootie from a show that Charlotte Rae was previously on? I'm talking about Officer Gunther Toody from Car 54, Whrere Are You?

They called her "Tootie" because she talked "too" much. But, this isn't revealed until the Edna's Edibles years! It's crazy this was not revealed in season ONE when Mrs. Garrett first got to Eastland.
