Lisa said that she was looking at another girl's derriere (which she idenified as Julie Pie in other interviews) while auditioning for a role in the Facts of Life.

Why would she do that if she went after Cindy for being too touchy feely to girls in "Rough Housing"? And her anti-gay messages later on (which she has since evolved on) Hypocrite much? In denial?

No, it was about insulting Sue Ann. The most likely places it were were either when she says "Blue blood would never mix with yours", or when Sue Ann has the donkey head on and Blair says, "I'm surprised he didn't recognize you. All you have to do is look at the donkey head and work your way backward" (where she does glance down).

That’s the FOL pilot, she auditioned for the backdoor pilot on DS first.

That's definitely possible, but I have a theory that the line actually happened during Season One. During "The Girls' School", Blair is dressed in Texas-style daisy dukes, she smokes, and plays guitar: she's still Texas-style Blair, there. It isn't until "Rough Housing" that Blair's clothes change to sophisticated (for the late 1970s) Joraches, she no longer plays guitar, and she's now a painter: she's been transformed to Manhattan Blair. I believe it was during the transition to series that that line reading which changed the character of Blair, at the same time that we lost Jennifer and Laura, and gained Natalie and Cindy.

After all, Blair is the "mean girl" in TGS, whereas she was originally written as a "naive, fast-talking girl from Texas" (which is more like Sue Ann in TGS). Maybe they changed Blair to Mean Girl Blair in TGS school and gave Julie Piekarski the old Blair character, renaming her Sue Ann?

Personally, I'll still believe it has to do with TGS.

Yeah, I can totally see your reasoning. That was actually my belief for a long time, too. But after re-watching TGS and RH, it feels like The Blair Reboot happened between TGS and RH. Not saying you're wrong, because I don't think that. I only just have this tiny inkling that makes me think the character was changed between those episodes.

Still, you're right that Blair is already mean by TGS.
