Default Don't you think Oliver looked almost old enough to be Lisa's dad?!

I think he clearly did eventhough I think there was a 13 year age difference between the two of them.

Duster76 pointed out the actress who played Lisa's mom in season 1 was only 5 months older than Eddie Albert! One reason is because Eddie had somewhat of a rooster neck and a kind of a puffy face that made him look old.

Lisa, on the other hand, always looked young and gorgeous!

That's just one of the many incongruities that make this show so enjoyable. They even lampshaded it a few times like when some high school kids kept mistaking Oliver as Lisa's dad.

Exactly!

An even more glaring example is how Fred Mertz looked like Ethel Mertz's dad!

Yep. William Frawley was 22 years older. I've read that Vivian Vance hated having a TV husband so much older than her.

Eddie Albert and Eva Gabor on the other hand loved each other even in real life and their chemistry comes through wonderfully on screen.

True. Another one is where Isabel Sanford(Weezy) was 20 years older than Sherman Hemsley(George) on the Jeffersons yet IRONICALLY she actually looked YOUNGER than him and one episode even referenced the fact that he looked OLDER than she did!

She looks a lot younger than Oliver whether you think he looks old enough to be her dad or not.

Oliver has jowels, sags, and wrinkles on his face. He also has somewhat of a double chin.

Lisa has NONE of that.

Smile Oleevah, just a Spring Rooster

Actually Oliver looks a lot younger than his years, though with all the nut cases that constantly surround him I can see him getting older before his young years. And Lisa, come on, she's by no means a spring chicken, an old hen?, yes and I might add perfectly matched age-wise for Oleevah.

Come to think of it, I can't think of any hot young chicks on Green Acres other than when the brunette chick from Pett. Junction stops by. Betty, Bobbie, Billie-Jos? I can never remember which is what.

How about the cute blonde high school girl who developed a crush on Oliver and all the other men who came to the school as guest speakers on career day ?

Did the show ever tell how Lisa and Oliver met? I sort of assumed that Lisa was a war bride, but I don't know if the show ever said Oliver was a veteran.

I think the official canon is they're both WW2 veterans. They met during the war.

In later seasons it became a running gag that Lisa would always tell a different story about how they met, but considering that the war story was her first one and it agrees with their existing backstories, I consider that to be the real one.
