I've only seen Seasons 4 & 5 so far ...

And the writers gave him great lines ! He steals the scene many times !!

Even at times Marjorie Lord can't help but smile when Rusty is ON

very sad on his sad end of life, but I think he did a great job opposite the very dominate Danny Thomas

Yes, they wrote really well for him. I never thought of the Danny Bonaduce comparison,but it's perfect.
