Why has the character Groot become so popular in movies?
Ever since the Marvel movies came out I have noticed that the character Groot is now very popular and the movie Guardians Of The Galaxy made Groot even more popular? Is it because Groot has become the E.T. of the 2000's or is it because he's the cutest of the Marvel movie characters? Because now that Guardians Of The Galaxy is a popular movie I've seen Groot everywhere on merchandise such as kids backpacks Christmas ornaments clothing and plush versions of Groot are very scarce to find as they are a hot holiday toy this year. And the signature catchphrase "I Am Groot" is becoming a popular movie line and ever since the debut of the cartoon series Rocket And Groot i've never seen a movie character get so popular this year
Is Groot gonna be as popular as Gizmo from Gremlins was in 1984? Bestie |

I think Baby Groot became popular in the Guardians Of The Galaxy sequel, but I don't think he's anywhere as popular as Baby Yoda who came from The Mandalorian TV series.
I've never seen the amount of nods, memes, references to Baby Groot as I've seen to Baby Yoda, especially in such a short amount of time. Baby Yoda has popped up everywhere from SNL to The Sims 4. |

Hi, Bestie! Yes, baby Groot is very popular. Probably because he is so funny. I think he is the number one in the Guardians for popularity.

I knew Vin Diesel provided Groot's voice because he also provided the Spanish and French voices for Groot as well. I fell in love with Groot when I saw him in Guardians Of The Galaxy and now have been collecting everything Groot since. Not to mention I love to cuddle with a giant teen Groot plush when I sleep. My favorite scene in Guardians Of The Galaxy is the one where Rocket tells Groot not to press the button on the control panel box but Groot does it anyway and it always makes me giggle when I see it
