Default Who was covering for a guilty friend or family member?

Could be someone who was interviewed on UM, or they lied to police, helped clean up a crime scene, etc...

Or a criminal vanished to avoid prosecution and someone is lying to throw off their actual location?

Who do you suspect was lying/covering for someone?

The big one IMO is Chad Noe... I can't remember how many people representing his family were on the episode, but it seems like most/all of them knew or suspected what had happened.

One of the most horrific crimes documented by UM.

This is what immediately came to my mind as well. That whole family were covering for each other.

I think there were lots of lying and covering in the Circleville letters case. Same with the Tracey Kirkpatrick case, I think people were lying and covering for the security guard (who imo did it).

Tons, but Bob Arcieri and Stryder Starfyer's friends claiming both men had fallen overboard and drowned immediately pop into mind.

The ones who immediately come to mind are not ones who were actually interviewed. But you just know they're guilty as sin.

- The parents of Paul Flores covered for him and helped hide Kristin Smart's body.

- The father of Jesse James Hollywood was wiring money to him in Brazil while he was on the run and at the same time claiming he had no idea where his son was.

- Randall Utterback, otherwise known here as the 'nerdy, possessive boyfriend'... I'll never not be convinced that his family members have known where he's been all these years and is helping him stay hidden. The man is just too stupid to make it out there on his own with no help. And his family is under the delusion that he's never done anything wrong. So you have evil protecting evil

Donald Eugene Webb's family hid him for years after he murdered Greg Webb.

Melody Woods's pal.

That's the one who drove up her van to a prison wall and waited there until Miss Woods' incarcerated boyfriend Michael Short climbed the wall-then drove off with Melody leaving Melody's pal to attempt to blame the WHOLE thing on Mr. Short and attempted to portray herself and Miss Woods as having been innocent victims almost as much as Miss Woods's father did. Nine months afterwards the couple turned themselves in and Miss Woods received ten years probation ( perhaps because the authorities weren't as convinced of Miss Woods's innocence and lack of complicity as Mr. Woods, Miss Woods' pal or the UM producers) while seven years were added to Mr. Short's sentence. Well, he's since been released and he and Miss Woods are married so I wonder if either her father or the pal are still as adamant that Miss Woods was an unwilling victim in the whole thing as they were during the show's airing.

Carrie Zaboroski (sp?) from the Don Richard Davis segment, saying "I still think it's a case of mistaken identity" even though there were loads of hard physical evidence establishing Davis's guilt.

I think that Gloria Schulze's family(the lady who hit and killed Angela Maher) has been helping her stay hidden all these years
