Default Do people actually enjoy working during Christmas?

I don’t. Such a hectic time of year! I want to be at home and relax.

People shouldn't have to work four jobs. Life is short.

and she told me she doesn't really celebrate Christmas because of that; this Christmas she plans to just relax and take it easy all day.

I was imagining from time to time that if a business were to be open on Christmas Day (or any other holiday where most businesses would usually be closed), that business would make an employee work during said holiday if the employee had committed an infraction/offense during a particular quarter or half of the year (maybe infractions/offenses that are not serious enough for getting fired). I think this form of workplace discipline would be the equivalent of Saturday Detention in school (Holiday Detention?).

I worked one Christmas because since I had nowhere to go and nothing to do that year, I chose to work on Christmas.

It was okay...I got to enjoy it with my family after I was done working.

I do hope the store owners pay the workers extra. Time and half or double pay.
Now the society way of life is make a buck. The stores everywhere have enough merchandise to stock the world. I get dizzy going through the aisles. Too much stuff.

I worked on Christmas Eve last year and was off this year. Honestly, it was more packed at the supermarket where I worked leading up to Christmas. Christmas Eve wasn't that busy this year. It was busy but not super busy.

I have to work Christmas Eve pretty much every year but we're closed on Christmas Day. I don't enjoy it but I've learned to deal with it.

My office is open 365 24/7. I've been there 18 years this December 4th. I volunteered to work this Christmas b/c I didn't want to be at home alone on my first Christmas without my husband. But I realized that it was only the 2nd time in 18 years that I had to work on Christmas Day. I also had to work my first year (2001) because back then they did the holidays by reverse seniority and since I was new I was one of the people who had to work. This year wasn't too bad though. It was pretty slow and they brought in food for us.

I'm sorry again about your husband. It's hard to be a widow/widower on the holidays.

When my mom died three years ago, I had the WORST Christmas Ever!

And it isn't easy when you don't have that many relatives to see and have no family. I doubt I'll ever have a family of my own....
