Does anyone know if season 5 of Bonanza DVD set has the cast presentation of the 1965 Chevy's with Liz Montgomery and Agnes Morehead? The earlier seasons have the Bonanza cast introducing the new cars such as the 1963 Chevy's with the cast of Route 66 and My Three Sons.

I just saw it on a certain site. It looks as though Lorne Greene, Micheal Landon, Elizabeth Montgomery and Agnes Moorehead (and, to some degree, Dick York) had their fun doing this!

However; why would I not be surprised if having to make that commercial on the set for Virginia City's Main Street pitching these mid 20th century cars while playing a mid 19th century character - then winding up being upstaged by Samantha and Endora from 'Bewitched' may have very have been a contributing factor in Pernell Roberts's decision to QUIT 'Bonanza' at the end of 1965 Season? It sure looked to me as though Mr. Roberts HATED doing this spot and likely was chomping at the bit the WHOLE time citing not only the above logical absurdities but also disliking having to pitch a product in general.

It's likely the commercial was shot in the summer of 1964 since car models usually debuted in the fall of the prior calendar year.

Good points you make. I don’t think Pernell Roberts liked doing the commercial stuff. I have since found out it was season 6 when they made that commercial.
