Glad you're still enjoying Hazel so. It's good to know that thanks to Antenna TV and FETV showing Hazel today that it's earning so many new fans that just 10 years ago may never have heard of it. That's how I felt a few years back when mentioning Hazel to people they'd say, "Who?" Now that this great show is once again "in circulation" people today know what a quality show it is.
Just think for practically 20 years Hazel wasn't seen on TV at all from the very late '60's or perhaps the early '70's to the late '80's, even then only the Family channel carried it till WOR's old "Superstation" started showing it every night. And it wasn't until WOR started it up in the early '90's (or was it the very late '80's?, don't remember precisely) that they first started showing all the b/w episodes. For even when the Family channel showed it they only showed the color episodes except for a couple b/w's that was it till the '90's and WOR. By the way, interestingly enough, the only b/w episode WOR would skip every run thru was the "Dorothy's Birthday" episode. But, probably quite by accident, WOR would show the Pilot episode of Hazel which was also the same script as "Dorothy's Birthday" EXCEPT it starred Edward Andrews (of Twilight Zone's "You Drive" and countless Doris Day movies) as Mr. B, the mailman, Barney, was played by Hal Smith, as I recall, of Otis the Drunk fame. They showed that very rare pilot episode every run thru of the Hazel series and I bet they never even knew that they were showing the pilot and not the Don Defore regular episode. I'm glad they did though. Even the commercial DVDs didn't include that pilot. So for 20 years I went without any Hazel, I think the last time I had seen Hazel was in the late '60's until Family channel came along. I remember how happy I was, as it was one of my 2 very favorite shows when I was a kid, I immediately started taping them from Fam and watching it every night when I got home. Now with DVDs we're all so lucky to be alive in this new age. |

When I take a day off from work, I watch Hazel on Antenna. Today one of the eps’s was where Mr. Griffin proposes to her. I truly enjoy the show!. Although sometimes it makes me QUITEhungry LOL.
