Does anyone remember Yogi "even though he spells it Yogi it's actually pronounced Yor-Gee" Jorgenson? He was a comedy singer who was best known for funny Christmas songs including Yingle Bells and I Yust "The Swedish way of saying Just" Go Nuts At Christmas and The Christmas Party. Even though he had some non holiday comedy songs Yogi Jorgenson's Christmas songs are a laugh to listen to during the holidays

Yogi Yorgesson, also known as Harry Stewart, sadly passed away in 1956 after an auto accident. I have a copy of the 45 RPM record with those Christmas novelty songs, it's on Capitol Records released in 1953 and has a dark green label with silver lettering. The songs on the record are: Yingle Bells, The Christmas Party, I Yust Go Nuts At Christmas, and I Was Santa Claus At The School House For The PTA.
There's a guy from Chicago named Chuck Schaden, he's retired now but he used to host an old time radio show on Saturday afternoons and during December he would play those Yogi Yorgesson Christmas novelty songs. Another thing I remember from Chuck's radio show is he played The Cinnamon Bear fantasy/adventure story from 1937 which was done in serialized form, it has 26 chapters. Back in the day when The Cinnamon Bear was first played on the radio, I guess the idea was to play a chapter a day starting at the end of November with the last chapter played on Christmas Eve or Christmas Day. |

Yogi Yorgesson died in 1956 in an car accident in 1956? How sad because he would've had more funny Christmas songs that would've been hits if he would've been still alive. Thank you so much for the little bio it was really helpful to learn more
