Default "What If?" Theater #2

Ok, I'm sure most (if not all) of you are familiar with the episode "Turn Around and You're Home" from the end of season 10. If not, here's a brief summary:

Joanie and Chachi return from Chicago for what is supposed to be a brief visit. Joanie decides that she wants to move back home, enroll at UWM, and pursue her dream of teaching. Chachi gets upset ("The girl is SUPPOSED to follow the guy!") and tries to convince her to return to Chicago - and the band - with him. Joanie refuses, and Chachi leaves without her, only to return a few days later to tell Joanie how miserable he was without her. He asks her if she woud think he was the "weak one" if he came back to be with her. She says no, and they live happily ever after. (Until they break up again the following season...)

So here's "What If?" number 2...
What if Chachi hadn't returned? If he had decided to stay in Chicago to work on his music, do you think Joanie would've eventually caved and went back? Or would the producers have given her a new boyfriend? Maybe Joanie and Jenny could've gotten into all kinds of "single-girl" misadventures...

Personally, I still think it would've been cute to follow up on that crush Joanie used to have on Potsie, even if it was just for one episode, like they go out on a date and realize they were just meant to be friends. Or maybe THEY would've gotten married at the end of season 11. But maybe that's pushing it just a little...

Post My take on Joanie and Chachi

Camera Queen, first of all, Joanie would never go back to Chicago with Chachi, and Chachi did stay. It was because their own series, "Joanie Loves Chachi" was axed after only 17 episodes, due to low ratings. Anyway, Joanie would've gotten a new boyfriend, but keep in mind, Jenny left after the 10th season. BTW, Mr. C might not have enjoyed Potsie dating Joanie, because Mr. C never did like Potsie in the first place. Joanie and Chachi marrying was a good way to end the series.

I know why Joanie and Chachi came back...this thread is called "What If?" Theater, which means you are supposed to imagine how the series would've been different if certain things happened a certain way, all of which I explained in the original "What If" Theater post.

I'm sorry. I didn't think you already knew why Joanie and Chachi returned. I'm new on this site, so I don't know how to say things in replies. I'll do my best though. Going to the "What If" question, if Chachi left, Joanie might've gotten a new boyfriend. Jenny Piccalo could've stayed, and she and Joanie may have some 'single girl' misadventures. As I mentioned on my first post, Joanie might have another date with Potsie, but you're right. Joanie marrying Potsie at the end does go too far.
