The wallet lady promised to send Beaver a nice present for returning her wallet. She never did send anything. Mr. Watson promised to send Beaver a reward for finding the canoe. He sent Beaver $5 and a nice letter. LITB always seems to favor the masculine viewpoint.
Also when a newspaper is going to print an article about what someone did they always want to talk to the person being profiled so I don’t think the paper would’ve printed it on the evidence of others. Would they? |

Mrs. Watson probably wrote the letter and signed his name. But seriously, good point.
Yes, you'd think they would have talked to Theodore/Theodour before printing the article. Another good point. |

I thought it would have been funny if after Ward got Beaver the clock radio saying that it was from Miss Tompkins that the real present from Miss Tompkins would arrive in the mail. Awkward...

I wonder what Miss Thompson thought when she received Beaver’s letter. Imagine if she decided to send him a present after that. She might have lost his address but could always call the police station. Beaver called the police to get her address. I hope she was ashamed telling a little boy she would reward him then forgot. Also how could she have lost her wallet and be able to be out of town for 10 days. Wouldn’t she have been up the creek with no money. Also you would think she would have had at least her license in the wallet. Maybe even a secret compartment in case she got held up.
