One time, I wanted to watch a full episode of Suits on the USA Network's website, but was prevented from doing so by a notice saying that I have to sign-in with my TV provider to watch said episode. What kind of network/channel does this? Don't the main broadcast networks allow some sort of window in which the episode in question is available on their websites for a few weeks after its original (linear) airing?
Have you experienced this, too? |

I've run into it a bunch of times. One site will let you watch a few minutes of a show then tell you to sign in with your provider. They used to let you watch the last few episodes without having to sign in. Don't know why they changed it.

In case you want to know what my TV provider is, it's Dish Network.
I tried to create a MyDish account some time ago, submitting my receiver number, and selected the "Send email address on file" option. When I clicked "continue", that's when it got confusing. I got a notice saying, "Instructions will be sent to the email address on file.", with such an email likely containing the MyDish Online ID and password. The problem with that? I don't think my email address is on file at Dish Network. I checked my GMail account, but there was nothing. Because of this, I'm out of luck when it comes to the problem of having to sign-in with my TV provider to watch shows' full episodes. |
