Default Lecy Goranson is the best thing about this show

I always thought she was underrated in the original series, particularly during seasons 3 and 4. And she’s consistently delivers the most laughs in the revival.

I think I like Harris the best. Darlene's life seems somewhat depressing. Becky's life seemed much worse than Darlene's, but things seem to be picking up for Becky. I just hope she can lay off the booze.

She was also one of the best things about the show in the original series, which is why I couldn't have cared less about the character when Sarah Chalke replaced her, and waited with baited breath for Goranson to come back.

I don’t like the way her voice sounds when she delivers her lines, at times....

I just caught up to the latest episode by binge-watching the last three episodes.

I feel Lecy is definitely underrated, and I've appreciated her storylines. The original show focused much more on Darlene in the later years, sort of eclipsing Lecy.

That said, when David and Darlene broke up in the last couple of episodes, and Darlene teared up, it made me tear up as well. That was well acted.

Emma (Harris) Kenny is now the top female star on shameless now that Emmy Rossum left, and she should be given a bigger role on The Conners too.

Harris is really unlikable. I mean, really not funny. There’s no way Roseanne would have let Darlene treat her the way Harris treats Darlene.

Yeah, I really don't like her, either. But I think she's supposed to be unlikable to prove a point. It's okay to be sarcastic as a smart aleck teen, not as an adult raising a child, and I feel as though her kid doesn't respect her for this very reason. She sees her mother as an immature, snarky jerk, not as a grown adult.

I think Lecy was used alot in s1-4 but s5 was the season she left so she was hardly in it.

Yep. But even when they brought Lecy back, she was barely in the show.

I also don't understand why her voice is projecting like that. Unless it is the natural way her voice projects. Roseanne's voice (from the 10th season) also seemed unnatural.

Yet Roseanne did, probably a hundred times. Both Darlene and Harris are cynical and sarcastic. That's part of their characters. Harris doesn't treat Darlene any worse than Darlene treated Roseanne.

They should really build the show around Lecy's character.

We need to see more of Becky and the romance of Dan and Louise.

I finished yesterday the first season and I agree.
Becky is a more interesting character, and the way Lecy portrayed her was a pleasant surprise.

I agree. I really didn't care for Lecy in the original show at all, but she is rocking it on The Connors. They've given her a great storyline and she is running with it. It's painful to watch at times, but her performances are amazing.
