Ward is appalled that Wally bought that loud suit and would be embarrassed for him. June doesn’t seem that rattled but she sure was rattled over the Jellyroll head and Ward thought he would outgrow it. Love how June used a bit of psychology along with the salesman who ran the Hawthorne School for the Progressive Boy. He had to sell suits after the school no longer got accreditation. Later he turned to the Worldwide Music Academy in Omaha.

Yes, what a career, from running a prep school, to selling suits at the Prep Shop, to collecting money from deadbeat accordion purchasers.

Yep, June went from psychology with the suit, to "Because I tell you so" with the hair.

Wally would be a well dressed teenager if he went to a function in that suit now. All the girls would simply fade away seeing such a sight. I believe Beaver still liked the other suit because it had more pockets.

I thought the salesman told Wally the suit needed some alterations and thought they were going to alter it but he brought it home. Usually if you buy a suit it’s fitted and you have to pick it up later.

My son bought a suit at the last minute to be in his brother’s wedding and it had to be altered. I was thinking he would wear it loosely basted (Three Smart Saps) and be like Curly in the 3 Stooges dancing and the suit starts falling off. Just found out that Ann Doran was in a Three Stooges short, Three Sappy People, as the countess (uncredited). IMDB. She had quite a career.

I don't think we saw much of the store conversation after Wally bought the suit. Mr. Franklin later said that he tried to talk Wally out of buying it; we heard a little of that but he couldn't talk Wally out of it. He didn't use the drape of the suit and the inability to shorten the sleeves until the whole clan went to the store. Maybe June set that up on the phone with Mr. Franklin. This was one episode where she really upstaged Ward, which was unusual in the ABC years.

Right, Beaver even said at the end that he liked the other suit, but he was locked in on the number of pockets.

Maybe I'd think differently if the show was in color but IMO the original suit was fine, despite the unending number of pockets.
