When The Flintstones began they also became commercial stars and as I did commercial research today I happened to find that The Flintstones promoted Alka-Seltzer and One A Day Vitamins because the company Miles was a frequent sponsor of The Flintstones and I don't know why METV didn't choose to air The Flintstones with the original commercial sponsorship plugs and that would've made it neat. In the 80's and 90's in addition to the famous Fruity and Cocoa Pebbles commercials with Fred's famous tagline "Barney My Pebbles" The Flintstones also started promoting Flintstones Push-Ups Ice Creams in the 90's and I remember seeing the commercials for them as a child and Push-Ups are still a favorite of mine but I think due to the popularity of The Flintstones and it's debut on METV Push-Ups ice creams are rare to find in supermarket shelves today
What other The Flintstones commercials can you spot? Bestie |

I think Winston cigs. were a sponsor in the early years.
It'd be cool for a network like MeTV to seek out sponsorship from original companies like Miles, and use the original animated ads. Many of them would probably be in black and white, and in 16mm quality, so I don't know if it'd fly. |
