Wonderful news! Hopefully we'll see S05 soon, then that'll complete the B&W episodes. It's yet another MOD release, and ridiculous price tags for both volumes, but it's something I'd consider buying. I'm curious as to how the quality of these prints will be.

Exclamation Please NO changes must have original music.

FANTASTICO!! Now let us hope that they don't replace the original music and chop them up. Uncut and with original music please CBS masters.

By the way, I'm also happy that here these season 4's are coming out so soon after the season 3's came out. It took forever for season 3 to arrive, now with season 4 so soon following s.3 it hopefully means they've had a great response from us buyers for s.3 that they quickly came out with s.4. Now if they could just stop releasing these things divided into 2 volumes. Single seasons should be in one DVD set not 2. $32 for one entire season is much more in reality of what people are willing to spend. $64 for a single season is a lot to ask. But us crazed fans, at least, will be the ones to go for it. The average Jamoke? I doubt it.

This was the first season with Ernie. When Stanley Livingston's real life brother, Barry, joined the cast as Ernie Thompson who eventually became the 3rd son after Mike and Sally got married and left in S6 when the show became color.

Will be interesting to know if season 4 has any edited episodes since a total of 8 edited episodes ended up on the season 3 DVD's.

The oldies.com site is reliable. They have a lot of Ozzie & H DVDs I've ordered before.

Not sure why Amazon is not carrying it.

Amazon was supposed to email me when it became available and I have heard nothing from them.

I took a chance on the Movie Zyng website that stated they would ship on 9/10. This afternoon I received a confirmation email that my DVD's have shipped and will be here tomorrow 9/12.

With Amazon adding tax, there was only a 96 cent difference between what I paid for S3 on Amazon and what I paid Movie Zyng for S4 including paying extra for 2-day shipping via UPS.

Just a teency-weency excited, I am

I have to say, I was surprised to learn they started releasing these My Three Sons seasons again. But it is definitely a pleasant surprise. I can't wait for the California episodes as they are my favorites.

This review is for Volumes 1 and 2 since I purchased both together. These two sets are the same as the Season 3 releases. No remastering has been done on the episodes themselves, but the score has not been altered like it was on the first two seasons that were released in 2008-2010. Those were pressed discs but these are the purple burned discs. They do have a nice silk screened logo on each disc that lists the episode titles. There is no insert with titles/airdates though.

The back covers feature the same colorized cast photo, although it not a Season 4 publicity pic, it’s from the first season. The bad news is that once again there are cut episodes. Most of the episodes on Volume 1 run between 25:30-25:40. On Volume 2, the episodes all start having shorter running times that range from around 24:00-24:50. I can’t tell if they are edited, so I assume maybe mid-season they began to make the episodes shorter. I did compare with The Patty Duke Show Season 1, which aired on ABC the same year as this, but the Patty episodes were all around 25:30, so it makes me wonder. The following is a list of run times on the confirmed edited ones:

DEAR ROBBIE 22:34
SECOND CHORUS 23:45
MY FRIEND ERNIE 22:38
THE END OF YOU-KNOW-WHAT 22:26
THE TOUPEE 22:29

I liked this Season better than the first three. The addition of Ernie (Barry Livingston) and Sally (Meredith MacRae) made the show more enjoyable for me. But, this is still pricey for edited episodes that are not remastered. Casual fans may want to pass on this and just watch on Me-TV, etc. rather than springing for this set. Season 5 is my favorite of the B&W years. I do hope if it’s released, there are no edits, but I am not holding my breath.

Thanks so much for the great pictures and the still shots! Great to see these wonderful new discs "in person" now. As for watching Me TV instead of buying these, then you'd be seeing EVERY episode edited and cut down as opposed to a few. I can't wait to get this set of Unedited and musically unmutilated My 3 Sons shows. I'm still watching Season 2 but I'm thinking maybe I should take the plunge and buy Seasons 3 & 4 now before someone at CBS decides to pull the plug on these marvelous releases.

So season 4 is similar to season 3, too many problems with edited episodes. The 24 minute episodes in the 2nd volume might mean the shows are speeded up/time compressed. I passed on season 3 so I'll pass on this one too, it's a no sale for me. I have the DVD's of the first two seasons and it looks like I'll be stopping there.
