Default Marathon (Binge) watching

I don't normally do this but lately I've been marathon watching (I hate the term binging) several TV series. I first kind of noticed that I was doing this when I decided to reacquaint myself with "The Facts of Life".
This is only my opinion but I don't know how anyone can sit down and watch an entire series at once. I start to go a little stir crazy and I have to kind of switch gears for a while. Currently I'm watching "Leave it to Beaver." and I'm trying to finish the series but if I watch too many it makes me nuts so I start watching "Joan of Arcadia or something else to kind of break the 'monotony'

Anyone else do this?

I love to binge watch shows but I do it in a different way. Instead of watching one series for hours at a time, I watch one episode at random from different series. This allows for more variety and flexibility and it allows me to start over again the next day with a different combination.

I've done a few recently...

Frasier - I watched all 11 seasons. Going into it, I wasn't a fan of this show but I kind of just made myself watch it. After a while, I found myself looking forward to the next episode and enjoying the series. So after all these years of not caring for the show, I now consider myself a fan.

Caroline in the City - Still on a '90s NBC kick, after "Frasier," I decided to watch all 4 seasons of "Caroline". I don't think I'd ever seen this show before and I gotta say, it really wasn't a very funny show and I didn't really care about the characters. I though Richard was just a jerk... and I'm supposed to root for him and Caroline to get together? Why? Anyways, I powered through and was able to enjoy it somewhat, but it certainly won't be going onto any of my favorites lists.

M*A*S*H - I was a huge fan of this show back in 2005 when I owned just the first three seasons on DVD. I used to watch those episodes over and over again. But by the time I got the fourth season, I was kind of M*A*S*Hed out and never fully returned to the series. So after not watching the series for over ten years, I finally decided to binge-watch every episode. I'm currently on disc 3 of season two. Henry Blake is still my favorite character and I know I'm gonna miss him when he's gone. However, I remember really loving Frank Burns the first time around but now I don't... as much. He's still funny but I used to think he was a lot funnier before.

I don't like the term "Binge" watching either. But hey most terms that came out or got popular during the 21st century are just plain stupid and sound ridiculous. As far as marathon watching goes,I don't like it and do not watch shows that way.1 or 2 episodes at a time is enough for me.The only good part about it is I can DVR a show I like and watch the episodes at later dates.

I can only watch 2 or 3 episodes in a row of a show. There's no way I could sit still for hours watching a whole season or a whole series. I do good to sit still for a 2-hour movie.

Well I tried to do it with LHOP but only got up to eps #47. But I did see the ep where Laura gives Nellie a “wheelie” for faking her injury.

Tried to do the same with WINGS but only got up to ep #50

I usually do not Binge Watch. I'll watch a couple episodes in a sitting and then I'd wait a few days or so to watch more.

I cannot binge watch as I just cannot mostly sit still for hours on end.Watching a 3 1/2 hour football game is maximum for me. Even then, I'm on my feet alot during breaks and halftime.Cooking, laundry, picking up,working out, etc. Too many other things to do in life with grand kids and such. Now when I have been sick on rare occasions,I can somewhat do it.At least until I fall asleep.

I know what you mean. I tried to watch a football game on Labor Day but I could barely make it through the first half before I got bored and had to give up.

Later that night, I watched The Big Bang Theory and Young Sheldon so that meant my binge watching was put off until Tuesday and last night when, as usual, there was nothing on. On those 2 nights, I applied my normal binge-watching technique that I described earlier on this page where I watch different episodes of various series online. This is what I finally decided on:

Tuesday September 3

1. Beverly Hillbillies - Pilot - The Clampettes Strike Oil
2. Laverne & Shirley - The Driving Test
3. Green Acres - Lisa's First Day On The Farm
4. Gilligan's Island - Water Water Everywhere

Wednesday September 4

1. The Dick Van Dyke Show - Pilot - The Sick Boy And The Sitter
2. Leave It To Beaver - Tell It To Ella
3. Green Acres - Lisa's Jam Session
4. I Dream Of Jeannie - Russian Roulette

The next group I do will be different and so will each one after that. It all depends on what I feel like watching that night.

I was doing it with Mama's Family and Hogan's Heroes about two months ago. I got into 4 seasons of Mama's Family and 1 1/2 of Hogan's Heroes before taking a break from 'em. Since then I watched the first season of Dragon Ball in like 3 days.lol Ever since Spectrum got FETV I've been staying up late to watch Maude.

The only time I ever do it is when Syfy runs the Twilight Zone marathon, usually on July 4th weekend and New Year's Eve/New Year's Day. Even then I can't watch them all.
